About Vancouver Paragliding
Grouse Mountain and the Peak of Vancouver have a long history of foot launched flight.
Back in the 1970’s Grouse Mountain was part of the Hang Gliding World Championships and competitors from all over the world would congregate each summer to compete in the skies over Vancouver. Back then, time in the air and spot landing were the goals for competitors and not unlike today, the real winners were those on the ground taking in the show.
The sport of paragliding was just in it’s infancy when hang gliding ruled the skies but it quickly caught on in popularity as the technology morphed from pseudo sky diving parachutes to flying wings with fantastic glide ratios. In fact, it’s been over 20 years now since the first tandem paragliders took to the skies over Grouse Mountain.
Commercial tandem paragliding started shortly thereafter giving people the Vancouver paragliding experience and we at North Shore Paragliding are proud to continue that tradition today.
While it’s very rare to see a hang glider flying off of Grouse Mountain now, our very skilled, highly experienced, Hang gliding and Paragliding Association of Canada (HPAC) certified tandem paragliding pilots flying every flyable day all summer long to help you experience the thrill of a lifetime!
So what are you waiting for, come on out and live the adventure! Try Vancouver paragliding today!
Another epic season is in the books and we are so thankful for all those that came out to experience tandem paragliding with North Shore Paragliding! The weather was remarkable this summer with great flying day after day from the Peak of Vancouver at a Grouse Mountain. We are already looking forward to seeing you in mid-June 2018!
